BabeSafe Mattress Cover
Friday, September 10, 2010 at 4:00AM What is it? This is a mattress cover that "protects babies against exposure to toxic gases generated from the elements phosphorus, arsenic and antimony" and therefore helps prevent SIDS.
How does it work? Just slip the mattress into the cover and seal it shut with the included tape.
Cool Features: The adhesive works by just removing a strip and then folding the plastic over. Nothing messy or requiring two hands.

Hi Angela, I just watched your faux show rerun - the one where you talk about sids. I was shocked because I am in New Zealand and my sister's baby just died recently here from sids at 5 weeks old. I am shocked because neither of us has ever heard anything about this cause of sids and we are from NZ!! Can you think of a reason why this is not common knowledge? Are you sure this theory has not been discredited for some reason?

I am so sorry for your and your sisters loss, losing a child is such a horrible thing.
Thanks for watching the FauxShow! It's hard to be sure about anything these days. This theory is scientifically based on blood tests ran on current and past children that have passed away from "SIDS". There is no doubt that there are chemicals in the flame retardant that can cause ill effects (slow poisoning) of the children that sleep on it.

My son had very bad reflux as an infant and I fear that had I not purchased this $40 cover, he may have succumbed to the poisoning.
It has to be noted that children can pass away from other health complications, but this blood test can be done especially if it appears to be not obvious what the cause is and is labeled SIDS.
The government should check the products for babies. Like mattress, cribs, and other stuff. It can harm babies because of the chemicals in it. Organic mattress I think is more appropriate.
I'm impressed, I must say. Very rarely do I come across a blog thats both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your thoughts is outstanding; the matter is something that not a lot of people are talking intelligently about. I am really happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
