Newborn Clogged Tear Duct

From the day she was born Abby had a boogery green and milky eye discharge from one of her eyes. I didn't know what it was or why it was doing happening but soon found out it was a clogged tear duct. I went online to find out how to help with it and was happy to find that expressed breastmilk combined with massaging near the tear duct should help it go away.

For a day I would put 1-2 drops of breastmilk around her eye and massage it in each time I went to breastfeed her. It seemed to work but once I stopped doing that it came right back. At her 2 week appointment I mentioned it to my midwife and she said I could continue what I had been doing or they could put some neosporin on her eye. I opted to have it taken care of with neosporin and that single application cleared it up!
